Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout with Toasted Coconut & Coffee
The first pillar in the series is 2022 Benthic Barrel Aged Stout with Toasted Coconut and Coffee. This was the beer that walked us out here - electrifying a supremely decadent synapsis between black velvet, baritone, stout and our slithery little eel minds. Hand-toasted coconut, whole bean coffee and litany of lumber from bourbon's finest. Fire breathing barrel, silky moonshiner fruit, island tropicocono, morning coffee, luxury sludge smothered under a mountainous grain bill of night-black brewer's malt.

[2018-05-15] Ursprunglig rating: Fat på MBCC 2018, grönt pass. Svart tjock vätska med mörkbrun krona. Doft av krämig fudge, bourbon, lätt kokoston, choklad. Stor maffig kropp. Bra hetta från alkoholen och fatlagringen. I smaken kola, toffee, choklad, bourbon, kolaremmar, marsipan och likörpralin. Gott! [9/4/9/4/16=4,2] [2022-04-23] Uppdatering: Burk från 2020. Svart med brunbeige krona. Massor av kaffe, kokos, lakrits, lätt salmiakton, Bourbon och en snyggt chokladig botten. Fin kaffebeska, snygg rostad kokoston, kola. Mycket gott. Petar upp betyget till 4,3.

0,05l from tap at MBCC Green Session 2018. black color, small coffee colored head. smells of bourbon, coconut, earthy, some vanilla, light berry notes, bit toasty, lovely smell. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of bourbon, coconut, light mint, bitter chocolate, lightly dried fruits. finishes lightly sweet with notes of bourbon, coconut and some mint notes. very very nice beer. loved this 9, 4, 9, 4, 19

Nice fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet boozy, dark sugar, dark malts, minerals, booze, chocolate, cinnamon, toast, nuts, oak, vanilla. Taste is sweet boozy, dark sugar, minerals, booze, weeds, dark malts, bark, old rope, fruit stones, oak, chocolate, vanilla. Medium bitterness, sweet boozy mouthfeel. Fair enough.

Sample at Hops & Pie during the "GABF Week, CSA Portfolio Tasting" on 10/04/2017. Pitch black pour with a medium thin light beige head that diminishes quickly to a film. Small patches of lace. Aroma of bourbon, chocolate malt and coconut. Full-bodied with flavors of bourbon, roast coffee, malt and coconut. The finish is roasty and oaky with a coffee and coconut aftertaste. Good beer overall.

Sampled from the tap at GTMW 2017. Pours near black with a dark brown head that starts and remains at the edges. Aroma has a good amount of coffee, dark grains, roasted malts and touches of coconut and barrel backing. Flavor has thick sweet dark grains, roasted malts coconut and barrel underlying.

Sample at MBCC 2017. Black with a small head. Sweetish with dark malt, bourbon, coconut, toffee and something that reminded of cinnamon. The body was full and the finish long.

Draught @ MBCC 2017. Pours pitch black with a tiny head. Aroma of oak, wood, booze, brandy, bourbon and syrup. Taste is complex, sweetish and heavy with loads of brandy, bourbon, oak, vanilla and toffee. Finish is heavy and complex with some brandy, oak, vanilla and toffee. Heavy and complex.
