Best before Feb 2006 bottle shared by SuIIy on 6/9/06. Shimmering (light sediment suspended) bronze with deep strawberry-blonde tints showcase this lightly filtered body. The off-white head sits atop, perfectly retained at about a centimeter in height and providing plenty of lacing. If this is past its best before date, I can only imagine it fresh. Strong perfumey hops emanate from the liquid, mixing about with lightly toasted grains that begin to build. Though the colombus greatly overpower the goldings, the goldings still do provide a hint of spicy/grassiness that is highly dry, zesty and challenging. Soft pine resin slowly weaves itself about the caramel malts and a hint of breadiness is felt as an afterthought. Not too sugary either, but a good backbone is notable from the aroma, without ruining the hops. The flavor is surprisingly restrained and lightly fruity, with bits of oat-like creaminess, chewy, and sporting notes of vanilla and buttery biscuits. Some perfuminess lingers on, and is especially apparent at this age, as the acid from the colombus has definitely calmed down. I can tell this was just absolutely packed with hops by the strong plant-like chewiness and old leafiness. Very clean, with no yeast apparent, nor alcohol. Firm, nearly creamy texture and light carbonation that is engaging. How bout that head retention? Must be the wheat...

Bottle at London Gathering Nov 05. Copper colour with thin white head. Ooops another intense US IPA with grapefruit and hop. OK in mouth, but doesn’t live up to its nose. Bit thin in mouth and on finish. This rather lets it down

Hazy golden ale with floaties and huge golden head. Very sweet strawberry aroma, and bushy /resinous hops. Again a very mellow IPA, with resinous hops and chalky citrus. Very dry. Very pleasant an complex body. Bottle sampled with TiggMtl, MartinT, muzzlehatch and Rastacouere. Thanks to Goldtwins.

Hazy orange body, thin light cream head. Thick, dense, resiny hops nose. The hops slam the palate the second the beer hits the mouth, with tons of resiny, piney bitterness and peeks of citrus rind. Chewy and thick, this reminds me of a west coast beer, akin to one of Stone’s big beers. Definitely a boon for hopheads, although I consider myself a malt person. Bottle Pours a clear golden amber with a very thick sandy colored frothy head. Aroma is quite citrusy, mostly orange, not as sharp as some others that have a lot of grapefruit in the aroma. Honey and light malts as well. Flavor is plenty of hops but the flavor is soft and easy. As far as IPAs go the easiest one I can remember as far as drinkablility. Feel is soft and smooth, and the trailer is fairly woody and cardboardish. Quite good for the style. Thanks to Captain Cougar for this one.

A hazy orange beer with a small disappearing white head. The aroma is lovely sweet and hoppy. The flavor is sweet malty and nicely hopped with notes of oil before a dry hoppy end sets in.

Bottled, thanks SpringsLicker! Hazy golden. Rich grapefruit aroma. Sweet with clean but firm mouthfeel. Pine needle finish with good bitterness. A well balanced IPA, it’s shortcomings in malt character are well masked behind the hops.

I get to drink all the Georgia beers side by side and think that this one is a little over rated. A very good IPA by itself but it is running in some fast company and it's a beer I would drink again, there are other available regionals that I prefer. As a good IPA should there is a beautiful hop aroma, a nice thick head over a nice amber beer. Very smooth and well balanced but could use a little more body to suit me. A very good IPA that some will find to be their favorite GA IPA.
