Spicy, malty, bit flowery aroma. Sweetish with some caramel and roasted malt. Spicy and fruity. Bittersweet finish.

Bottle 1500ml. corked at [ Pre-Borefts Ratebeer Tasting ] @ Deanso’s place (former ABC Beers), Korte Koediefstraat 5 Den Haag, Netherlands 2511CE. [ As Grolsch Wintervorst ].[ Vintage BBF 8/1996 ]. Clear dark brown colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, oxidide, vintage malt. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, wood, oxidide, sweet malt, vintage malt. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20160922] 5-2-5-2-9

[9/22/16] Bottle sample at Pre-Borefts RateBeer Tasting at ABC Beers in Den Haag. Thanks everyone for sharing bottles! Best before 8/96. Brown. Aroma of caramel, oxidation, chocolate, malt. Sweet flavor, oxidized, with caramel, chocolate. Medium-bodied. Better than expected.

20 year old magnum shared by Zlotta, thanks! Clear brown with a medium tan head. Aroma is porty, oxidized, fudge, overripe dark fruit and raisins. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet. Medium bodied with near flat carbonation.

Thank you deanso. 1500 ml. bottle sampled @ Pre-Borefts Ratebeer Tasting 2016. BBF 1996 with further 3 week special aging. Dark amber. Nose id oxidation, strong, thick oxidized mats, leaves, herbal, basic thick old oxidized sweet malts, metallic. Taste is sweet metallic oxidation, thick old oxidized sugary malts, iron, metallic. Body is oxidation basic sugar & malt oxidized. Pretty much how every similar beer in ABV, buildup etc. will taste at this age. Not too had for what it is.

Bottle, BB 1996. Aroma is syrupy, spruces, sugar. Taste is Tannenzapfen, oxidized, the classic Vintage touch. Ok.

Sampled @ Pre-Borefts-Tasting 2016. Trübes dunkel orange braunes Bier. Geruch staubig trocken, reife rote Früchte, oxidiert. Geschmack süß malzig, oxidiert, reifes Obst, rote Früchte.

Bottle at the pre-Borefts tasting, Den Haag, 2016. Poured a clear medium brown with a bubbly white head. The aroma is rich sweet fruit, alcohol. The flavour is moderate to light sweet with a rich oily fruit dry yeast light hop palate. Medium bodied with flat carbonation.
