Bottle from Superbrugsen, Beder. Very dark brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and dark malts. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. 271223

Clear, very dark brown, beige head. Malty, nutty aroma, a little chocolate, some kind of spice. Sweet, malty flavour, malty caramel and a little roast.

50 cl bottle very very dark brown, smooth brown head. aroma is dry bitter roasted malts, dark fruits, christmas spices. a bitter spiced roasted malty dark fruity beer, quite decent dunkler bock aroma. flavor is roasted malts, bitter nuts, dark bitter caramel. quite a lot of flavor for a beer from 5 gaarde as i remember them.. Turns out they were once brewed by harboe, but now braunstein, and this is certanly showing in the quality and flavor.., a spice forward danish christmas beer, quite a bit towards the dry end of the spectrum of that kind of beer, which suits it well. Much better than i had expected, given other 5 gaarde i have tasted (the retired ones from harboe) have been quite boring. Mental note : re-rate all 5 gaarde beers

Aroma: Roasted malt with caramel. Flavour: Roasted sweet malt with caramel and notes of coffee. Aftertaste is roasted malty sweet with bitter notes. Colour: Dark reddish brown with an offwhite head. From: Bottle @ Fakta Tilst Dec. 2019.

Bottle @ Home. Pours clear very dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, light spice, light chocolate. Flavor is sweet, malty, caramel, light dusty, light spice, little chocolate. Thin to medium body, average carbonation, light sweet light specy finish. 081219

Bottle @ Brugsen. Pours amber copper with a creamy beige head and lacings. Corn, syrup, bubblegum, grains. Brown sugar. Discount feel. Sweet flabby papery finish.

500ml bottle picked up at an Irma Illum store in Copenhagen. Deep dark brownish coloured body, covering beige head, fair lacing. Quite inviting mid-sweet smell of toffee and dark spices. Rather sweet flavour character of chocolate, anise and toffee. Roasted endnotes, mid-sweet. Well bodied. Fits the winter season. Like it. (Shared at a session with TheCellarer, Snegurochka and Finn, Tromsø 09.03.2019).

Bottle 500ml. @ home.[ As De 5 Gaarde Nicolaus ].Brewed By Bryghuset Braunstein.Clear medium red amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, bread - dark bread, caramel, sweet malt, rich malt, malty. Initial flavor is moderate sweet, finish flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, burnt malt, sweet malt, caramel, bread.
