Pours a rich black with a khaki head. An aroma of cocoa powder and light roasted coffee beans. Robust taste of baker's chocolate and fresh baked pumpernickel bread. Full bodied in the mouth feel, finishing with a pleasant earthy dry character.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to becher glass.
Appearance: black color in the pour and in the glass with a finger and a half's worth of eggshell white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light messy lace
Aroma: dark bread, black coffee, sweet char, clean earthy notes, baker's chocolate and a little bit of treacle
Flavor: wraps up the prior noted aromas to a fine earthy sweet to bready toned quality; finishes earthy & bready
Texture: medium bodied, sessionable; very smooth but also noticeable and acceptable level of dryness on the tongue
Overall: a very nicely done dark lager very worthy of returning to.

16 oz. can. Pours black, with a small, fleeting head. The nose is charred oak, almond, chicory, cola, and black pepper. Sweet and malty, with a mild, chalky bitterness. Fairly light, lively, and a bit acrid. Solid black lager.

16 oz can from jcos, 5/8/23. Dark brown, creamy light tan head. Roasty and fairly dry. Coffee and dark / bitter chocolate. Drinks smooth, bitter, and fairly simple, but with an excellent complexity in it's simplicity. Quite nice.

16 oz. can. Aroma shows cacao, soft, chocolate, and perhaps pumpernickel. Flavor is a reflection with a soft citrus bitterness in the finish. Texture is crisp and ends clean. Wonderful drinkability. This is delightful lager!!!
