A limited‑edition wild ale fermented with fresh Pacific Northwest blueberries.
Blue Love is our first foray into the blueberry beer phenomenon. This beer was aged for up to 30 months in French oak barrels, then fermented with 10,000 pounds of specialty “Bluecrop” berries selected for their intense fruit character. Massive blueberry aromas and flavors, all balanced by soft acidity and insane drinkability.

I wish the Flanders’s style came through a bit more clearly. Definitely sweet blueberry and some tartness, plus a bit of barrel character.

375 c&c from the brewery. Pour dark purplish with a pink/purple tinged large head. Aroma is lightly tart and is mostly blueberry. Arguably med body. It's very dry. Moderately tart. Very blueberry with some wood astringency. Quite tasty. Quit approachable.

Bottle picked up from Beyond Beer, webshop, Hamburg (I think?) Had this at home cooking a Pasta Pesto with Steve Lamaq on 6 Music, had this Wednesday 4th January 2023. Pours deep amber with a reddish glint, tangy, tart and zappy, quite sharp, the blueberries really adding to this, finish is dry and furry but not really getting the barrel ageing, actually need to check what barrel it is?

Pours clear deep red with a off-white head. Aroma is tart with notes of funk, citrus, blueberries, malt and brett. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium to heavy sour with a long dry, tart, blueberry, funky and brett finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

On tap at Firestone Walker, pours a clear dark red with a small beige head. Aroma is loaded with tart blueberries, lots of oak, and mixed bugs. Flavour is buggy, with lots of faded sour blueberries—but more acidity/sourness than fruit character—accompanied by light oak and wild yeast. Not so convinced by the cohesion on this - the blueberries aren't that bright, nor is there much expression from the wild yeast. Overall, pleasant, but not one of their better ones.
