Happy Hops was originally brewed in 1944 by the Grace Brother's Brewery in Santa Rosa, CA! We are paying homage to the Grace family, whose brewery closed in the 1960's, and have revived "Happy," the charming hop character who graces the front of this label. Happy Hops is an IPA brewed with both new and old world hop varieties, giving this beer bold aromas and flavors with notes of tropical and stone fruits.
(from label)
Happy Hops is an incredibly hoppy India Pale Ale with an immense hop aroma and flavor and a mild bitterness.

Sampled from the tap at the Aces & Ales Nellis. Pours a clear yellow gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice dank citrus and light pine combination with some pre ripe mango underlying. Flavor has dank citrus and a bit of grass with some pine in the finish.

Bottle drunk at Scott's house for Christmas dinner while Scooter oinked outside in the background. Lightly hazy amber, moderate head. Great nose of sweet orange-lemon (Citra?). Flavor has a broad hop spectrum with citrus and tropical notes plus some smooth earthy background bitterness. Perfect balance and completely crushable.

Draft pour pint at Elliott Bay Pizza. Several drafts and bottles of this over the last couple years, and I always assumed I had rated it. A preference of mine over other RR IPAs when Pliny is not an option. Clean and clear golden appearance. Sticky lacing, thin head. Fragrant hops on the nose, with tropical tones. Crisp first sip. Tropical hops with a balanced and crisp cracker grain. Classic feel, and lighter feel without sacrificing flavor in any way. Very much on board with this IPA. Love this.

Reminiscent of a West Coast version of Lunch. Bright and full of citrus, with a lovely mix of tangerine, grapefruit, stone fruit, and a modest tropical note. Finishes with a gentle pine-mineral bitterness touched with citrus. Delicious.
