Panda at home, thanks to Kenny, 20/01/24. Unclear deep chestnut brown with a beige covering that veers edgewards. Nose is big on scotch, caramel, brown sugar melt, molasses, dates, light booze whisper. Taste comprises balanced whisky barrel, airy malts, booze, touch of chocolate, caramelised brown sugars, toffee, dates. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost cloaked in scotch. Solid sipper.

29th December 2023 Pretty much a clear deep amber brown beer, small tan head. Smooth and somewhat airy palate, good fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a decent creamy sweetness and a big toffee vibe, slightly singed. Some alcohol whiskey spice nibbles in the mid but this is not a hot barleywine. Rich fruity whiskey on the back end. More ripe fruits than whiskey but with that boozy spice very present. A rich and rewarding barleywine. Boozy but not hot. That's how a good ba barleywine should be for me.

Paper band sealed capped 500 from Tavour. Pours clear dark brown with an active, smallish beige head. Aroma is a mixture of peat and rum. Full bodied. Flavor is peat, dark malt, rum and wood notes. Not dry, but not sticky. Bitter from peat and heat. Extremely good flavor.

Capped, beribboned 500 from Tavour. Pours hazy/murky dark brown with a decent tan head. Aroma of toffee and scotch. Full bodied. Flavor is toffee, scotch, lightly musty wood, hints of chocolate, smoky off and on. Heat is not annoying. Good flavor, tho fresh scotch barrels would be nice.
