Manchester Beer Festival 2019. Dark brown in colour with a roasted malt nose and a decent mild style taste, although feels a tad thin.

Cask at York brewery. The beer looks fantas. Black. It is so dark that light is not getting through the glass. Heqvy roast, some sugar. A little lactose maybe. The roasted character is prominent but there is also a mild hop profile as well.

Cask at the Merchants Inn, Ruggers, 30/10/13. Dark mahogony brown with a good sized light tan covering. Nose is roast malt, light smoke, dark toffee, coffee cake aroma. Taste comprises light roast, coffee cake mix, earthy, dark berry fruit. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, smooth on the palate with a dryish lightly roasted finale. Ok stout.
