Jute Session IPA [Joot] Noun

1. Plant fibre that can be spun into coarse strong threads.

2. A crisp, light and refreshing session IPA, thirst-quenching, and low in bitterness.

Jute as a textile is one of the most accessible and versatile fabrics in the world. Over the years it has been used for fishing, manufacturing, household items and even clothing. Similarly, the goal of our session was to brew an accessible beer suitable for all occasions.

We put our spin on the traditional IPA, using a mix of Australian and American hops, keeping it naturally hazy and packed full of flavour. Jute is a crisp, light and refreshing session IPA. Initial aromas and tastes of citrus followed by a slightly bitter melon-rind finish

330ml can bought from Tesco on London road in Leicester. Light yellow and hazy with a small layer of white head. Pine apple and melon on the aroma with some grapefruit and some creamy lemon yoghurt notes. Tastes sweet with just a touch of hoppy bitterness in the middle of the sip. Long finish with more tropical fruit in the aftertaste. Weighty body for the ABV, medium carbonation. Delicious.

Can from Tesco, Byfleet. Grassy piney aroma with a citrus edge. Hazy light gold. Fluffy foamy white head. Medium bitter. Citrus. A touch of spice. Underlying grains, moreso in the finish. Light-medium bodied. Slick if thin. Prickly fizzy carbonation which highlights the dry finish. Enjoyable SIPA.

Pours a hazy straw colour with a foamy white head, the nose is mostly citrus fruits with a hint of mellow tropical fruits. Has a very fine, grainy mouthfeel and the flavour is again citrus fruits with some tropical fruits in there also, the carbonation is just right and this is a mighty fine session pale
