Bottle.
A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, beige head.
A- Gingerbread, nutmeg, vanilla.
F- Ginger, cinnamon, vanilla, slightly sweet, faint bitterness, cocoa.
T- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, complex finish.
O- Very strong ginger flavor. I wish it had a touch less and the other adjuncts were stronger. It just has too much ginger to really give off a true cookie flavor. Overly spiced. Not sure I get the hype but a good beer. Might have liked it a touch more had I drank it during the holidays when it was still brisk outside.

Can to snifter.
Appearance: dark brown close to black color with a thin cap of a little tan foamy head. Quickly dissipated to leave subtle lace.
Aroma: gingerbread then the normal characters of an impy stout
Flavor: sweet and semi-spicy through the gingerbread which blends with a great dose of roasty and chocolatey tones; quick gingerbread aftertaste with a little bit of roast
Texture: medium bodied, great sipper, semi-roasty and semi-dry finish
Overall: pretty nicely done impy pastry stout with gingerbread in it. I would have again.

First beer of 2023. Dark brown, small head. Nose is a gingerbread baking party in the glass, big ginger and bready cinnamon spice notes. Flavor is a well rounded, not-overly-sweet melange of spices. Roasted notes cone through at the end. Body is a bit thin for such an imperial pastry. Pretty tasty!

Can from Chris M: pours black with a beige head. Aroma is loads of gingerbread and chocolate. Taste is spicy, sort of sweet. Pretty nice at the top, but sort of gets old as you drink.

Can (10/26/20) pour from share with AirForceHops--thanks, Chris! Appearance is opaque black with no apparent sparkle, nice viscosity, thin ring of beige head and no lacing. Aroma is moderately strong gingerbread well balanced with roasted malts. Taste is initial strong gingerbread with later roasted malts. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with thick texture, soft, silky carbonation, hint of alcohol, and finish as taste. Overall, strong aroma and flavor as described.

Can, from Trader Joes. Pours opaque very dark brown with small foamy tan head, coffee beans aroma, low carbonation, medium bitter roasted malt/mocha taste with bitter chocolate, full body, long finish. Delightful full bodied stout.

I’ve been wanting to try this for ages and it doesn’t disappoint! Hardywood Gingerbread Stout 9.2% Imperial Milk Stout with cinnamon, vanilla, honey and fresh ginger This beer made me smile. Ruby black/brown with a deep tan head and luscious med-full body. Milk chocolate, spicy ginger, sweet vanilla and cinnamon. A cheerful beer that reminds you of dessert with the family. Great, I wish I had two. I could totally see myself drinking this on a yearly basis.
