Tropical Stout brewed with Hop Burns & Black in celebration of their 10th Anniversary.

Last month we had the privilage to welcome some of the team from Hop Burns & Black to the brewery to help dream up and and create this Tropical Stout. We've been long term fans and customers of Hop Burns so we were very excited to be included within their 10th anniversary celebrations.

Brewed with lager yeast, but fermented warm which draws more tropical flavours from the yeast. You can expect a very smooth, well balanced stout with wonderful roasty bitterness along with an ASCII style version of the iconic HB&B cat, Neko on the label.

On tap at Taphouse CPH, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a small tan head. Aroma has soft toasted bready malt, a touch of caramel, and a tiny hint of red berries. Flavour is dry, with lots of bready malt, a hint of caramel, and some red berries. Very dry, bready, and toasted malts on the finish. Pleasant.

Bottle from The Beer Shop, St Albans. It pours opaque, jet black with a handsome tan head. The aroma is super satisfying roasted malt, charred, umami, liquorice, quite savoury, bitter - sweet dark chocolate, cacao nibs, dull acidity and espresso. The taste is firmly dry, bitter - sweet character, dark roasted malt, slightly charred, umami, liquorice, dark chocolate, cacao nibs, freshly roasted coffee, espresso, dark chocolate torte, touch of tannin and woody vibes with a drying, dark roasted finish. Medium body, moderate fluffy carbonation. Robust and flavourful. Lovely stuff.
