(Draft at Mother Kelly's Bethnal Green, London, 21 Nov 2025) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of chocolate, molasses, coconut and nuts. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, sweet espresso, maple syrup, honey, nuts, coconut and a balanced cacao bitterness in a warming finish. Full body, quite sweet. On the sweet side, but really rich and tasty. Very nice.

7/2/2025. Can from 3at3, Ely shared by Col on the train home from Ely Beer Festival. Pours black with a small creamy tan coloured head. Great pour. My first detailed review was met with a "Something went wrong and we could not save the tick" so in summary now, really nice, very distinctive macaroon aroma, very smooth. Enjoyable end to a great day out.

Draught keg at the Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Pretty much black and opaque with a small bit of tan head. Booze, toasted coconut, a little bit of vanilla/caramel in the aroma. Taste isn't overly sweet by any means. It's got a nice weighty bitterness to it. Bitter cooking chocolate, caramel, treacle. Very bitter in the finish. Touches of old-fashioned cough syrup. Big body but not too big, clean not oily, with soft carbonation. Impressive, maybe not my favourite Overtone but still a gorgeous imperial.

Can at Het Magazijn, Dordrecht. Chocolate with toasted coconut, dark malt, roast, caramel, some brown sugar. Flavour is medium sweet and mild bitter with some alcohol in the finish. Body could be more full. Some nice roast chocolate and coconut.

Panda thanks to Cloin. Semi opaque dark brown beer, decent tan head. Airy palate, fairly smooth and mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, a little oaty biscuit, modest dark chocolate and a dominant but not oppressive espresso coffee vibe. Trace of fruity coffee on the smooth finish. Nice job. Does what it does rather well.

Can at home, from HOTM online, 09/12/24. Black topped with a good sized lasting khaki head. Nose is roast malts, chocolate, charr, toffee, molasses, toasted brown sugar. Taste comprises chocolate, roasted bite, hint of liquorice, spice, hint of red berries, toffee, charr, dried fruit rinds. Full bodied, fine massaging carbonation, semi drying close with a mellow spike of alcohol. An easy drinking sipper for 11%, if somewhat unspectacular impy stout.
