Bottle, 8.0%. Metal and caramel aroma. Clear dark brown colour. Good stable off-white head. The flavour is sweetish and sugary with a mild caramel note. Medium bitterness, fairly rough. Good mouthfeel. Caramel and metal finish.

Dark brown. Golden white head.
Quite rich dark beer with a strong alcohol taste/feeling.
Too much for my likings, but will suit an xmas dinner sure.
Not bad, not good, but with the right food..

Bottle sourced from Netto Valby and shared at home (26/12/2020) - pours brown with a thin beige head. Sweet and toasted malty with notes of caramel, brown sugar, also a roasted smokey edge coming through, medium plus body, spices into bittersweet malty close.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear, nutty brown with a small, beige head. Nose seems extremely buttery - I can't believe it's diacetyl!! - and slightly smoky. Rich, malty body, lowish carbonation, again caramel and smoke with an extremely bitter finish. Sort of an Imperial Skibsøl. Not a joy. 181220

50 cl bottle. i like the neck label, brwery of the year 2015,2016,2017 quite a statement. thisted is, however, one of the very best breweries selling beer mostly through supermarkets. of its kind, it could be the best. anyway, clear dark amber, smooth large light brown head. very nice aroma, a bit syrupy, malty, malt licorice, dough.. well blended. 7 flavor is malty, syrup and caramel, bitter nut shell slightly herbal note, overall the flavor is slightly fruity syruppy, solid malty base, and a lot of nutty bitterness in the end, changing to malty sweetness in the far end. a bit of a booze-bomb, not really that refined, but also not undrinkable as many industrial high abv beers are. If you experiment with food pairing, you could likely find something where the beer works exceptionally well, but it is too powerful and bitter for many things. flavor 6 palate 3 overall 13
