Imperial Milk Stout brewed in collaboration with our friends at WeldWerks Brewing.
Our imperial milk stout brewed with WeldWerks Brewing is soft as mallow, smooth as chocolate, with the buttery warmth of graham crackers. (Because yes, it has all those delicious bits in it.) MOON DUST recalls the carefree bliss of lunchbox trades, hazy summer nights, and your grandma’s bountiful pantry.
TASTING NOTES: graham, chocolate, mallows, lactose

(473ml can from Mikkeller Webshop) Pours black with a tiny rapidly fizzing few bubbles. Aroma is dominated by dark malts with fairly heavy and slightly acidic roast, molasses, graham wafers, some dark chocolate, a little raw sugar and cream. Flavour is raw sugar, dark syrup, moderate ashy/spent coffee bitter roast, dark chocolate, some graham cracker. Rather sweet up front but not quite cloying, lactose creaminess is fairly subtle, with a drying middle and finish that conveys a touch of booze heat for only 8%. Moderate plus roasty bitterness. Nice drinker sitting in a not-quite-sweet-nor-imperial bracket, dessert-like enough. Solid brew.

Draft at BIBCO. Pours pitch black with a finger of brown head that lingers. Graham cracker, marshmallow cream in the nose with a fudge note, cocoa powder. Smooth on the palate, slick and kind of oily. Lots of cacao nib, cocoa powder and coffee-like bitterness on the palate. Not as lactosey as their last few stouts, so in that sense a step up. Lingering coffee and cacao nib bitterness balances out the sweetness. Didn't like as much as V. Latte, but still a nice beer.
