The devil—in the form of a dog—appeared in Damme just as a storm put a hole in the village dyke. The locals killed the dog and used its corpse to fill the hole, saving Damme from flooding.

Damme Nation is a marriage of the British tradition of a more amber malt profile, the caramelised notes of Belgian special B malts with the seductive quality of classic American hop varieties from the Yakima Valley (Amarillo, Cascade and Citra).

Water: Damme. Malt: pils malt, pale ale, caramunich, special b. Hops: Amarillo, Cascade, Citra. Yeast: American ale. EBC: 31.

On tap at the Christmas market very close to Brugs Beertje, Brugge, Belgium. An amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, pine, caramel aroma. Tastes hoppy, pine, caramel, incredibly bitter which rather spoils the beer for me but it has potential for sure.

Fat på Malmö Brygghus Belgofestival. Trots bra kropp mest bara gräs- och maskrosbesk. Endimensionell. Ok.

Bottle @ home. Clear orange to light amber color, medium sized off-white head. Aroma is malts, hops, quite some resinous notes. Taste malts, again resinous hoppy, light pine, hop bitter, bitter. Decent to medium body, a bit fizzy carbonation. That fizzy carbonation does spoil the fun a bit, but overall I'm very pleased with this beer. More or less an old school IPA with focus on bitter hops, pine and resin. I really like that, but let it be a warning for those who are die hard NEIPA-fans: don't drink this, you will not like it. Dear brewers: kill some of the fizzy carbonation and the only thing I dislike about this beer is gone. Nonetheless: well done already.

Keg at Beer Merchants Tap - Hackney. Pours clear amber with a frothy white head. Moderate sweet, with notes of toasted bread, bitter grass, dried pine. Medium bodied, oily, with fine carbonation. Bitter finish, more pine, toasted grains, brown bread. Pretty so so.

Keg at Beer Merchants. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, juicy, orange marmalade, tangerine, kumquat and crystallised sugar. The taste is dry, bitter, pithy, zesty, tangerine, kumquat, peppery spice, resinous, pine need, grass and earth with a drying, resinous finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not bad.
