A medium, still cider made from a blend of apple varieties.

Pressed every year on our farm in the New Forest. We use a combination of apples from our own local orchards as well as the more traditional cider varieties from orchards we work in Herefordshire and Somerset. The result is a full-bodied blended cider, strong, still and un-pasteurised. Proper, vat-matured, scrumpy!

A good all rounder, well balanced and very quaffable.

From barrel at Cider House, Borough Market. 7%. Orange gold colour, no head and tangy apple aroma. Taste is tangy tart apple, woody leathery funk, balsamic vinegar and some drying tannins. Oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, low carbonation, medium light tannic finish. Quite drinkable.

Cask at GBBF day 3 11/08/2016. A bright translucent golden orange coloured pour with a halo head. Aroma is petrol, pungent apple, bile, tangy. Flavour is composed of tangy apple, pithy apple fruit tannin, spicy finish. Palate is spicy prickly carbonation. Decent.

Sampled @ GBBF Day 3 [as New Forest Traditional Cider, a no. 4 cider]. Clear bright yellow color, no head. Smell and taste apples, moderately dry, some tart apple peel in the aroma, but the flavor is initially quite sweet. Rater dry finish though. Hmm ok cider but imo a bit all over the place and not very smooth nor balanced.

Draught @ Borough Market. Not entirely sure if this is the same one described below, but this was pretty rough around the edges verging on Gwatkins territory, some funk and cider cellar dustiness, lacking some fruitiness. Ok for a half but couldn’t manage a pint of this.

Polycask at Banbury Beer Festival 07-05-10 Pours gold, touch hazy. Touch sweet and that sort of artificially sweetness reminiscent of a appley lemsip, blunted apple on the nose, its ok. A6 A3 F6 P3 Ov12 3.0
