Our first attempt of a Black IPA. It is a full-bodied yet refreshing IPA with moderate bitterness and toasted characters from the roast malt. We used Cryo Amarillo to add some fresh hop character to the beer. A seasonal beer to enjoy inside during the long winter nights in front of the fireplace.

Tap @ Highlanders, Aarhus. Black with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, toasted malt, light banana and light hoppy - pine. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish. 011118

Draught @ Highlanders Bar. Pours very dark brown with a tan head, lacings. Aroma of roasted malt, sweet fruity hops, marmalade, light spice, light piney hops. Flavor is sweet, light roast malt, caramel, sweet fruity, spice, light pine. Medium body, soft to average carbonation, light sweet finish. 011118

Tap @ Highlanders. Very dark brown with medium beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, herbs, perfume, chocolate and spices. Flavour is roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, herbs, perfume, spices, medium sweet, grapefruit and medium bitter.

Tap@Skaal, Copenhagen - dark brown to black with a thin beige covering. Roasted malty and punchy hoppy, notes of cocoa and caramel, some grapefruit and fruity undertones, medium body, roasted and hoppy into the close. Good stuff.

From tap. Pours deep golden to brown. Small tan head. Aroma is toasted. Bitter. Solid hoppy. Bitter. Crisp hoppy. Mellow. Light liqourice note. Bitter and solid hoppy finish.
