The sister berliner to our “Lokelani” tiki-inspired sour from early in 2020, “Noelani” is hawaiian for “dew of the heavens”. For this beer, we were inspired by the mai tai. Starting with a sweet and tart base berliner, we refermented pineapple puree, tangerine puree and key lime juice to bring the tropics to your glass. Add in conditioning on almonds and you get a beer you could drink from a coconut!

Can from Tavour. Pours gold with a huge foamy white head. Aroma of orange, pineapple and kaffir lime leaves. Med minus body. Flavor is dry, lightly sour and has pineapple, key lime and tangelo. Not bitter, but tart. Interesting and quite drinkable.

Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7.5

16 oz. Aroma is, in order of appearance, match heads, pineapple, lime, almond, orange. Pours hazy pale yellow with a one finger bleach-white head that falls into a ring after a minute. Taste is light to moderately sour (6/10), and a little sweet with tropical flavors; finishes dry. A little thin and watery. Tastes pretty good, but it's a little underwhelming.
