Bottle at ash's. Pours black, nose is woody, chocolate, vanilla, almond, taste is similar, quite a lot of oak.

Bottle thanks to cgarvieuk. Appearance - dark and opaque with a tan head. Nose - nuts, dried fruit, leather and burnt wood. Taste - raisins, prunes, burnt wood and something a bit like PX. Palate - medium bodied and roasty with a long linger. Overall - lovely, elegant beer.

Bottle thanks to cgarvieuk. Pours clear dark brown with a thin tan head. Aromas of Madeira, leather, sherry, liquorice. Taste is dark chocolate, woody, leather and liquorice again. Some mixed dried fruit. Lovely stuff.

Cask at Dove Street Inn, Ipswich. Aroma has xreamy sweetness and liqourice. Boozy edge. Dark. Glossy. Foamy if blotchy tan head. Medium-heavy bodied. The Medira is very obvious. Sweet with a booze bite. Over creamy chocolate. Heavy bodied. Creamy. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. The barrel tales the lead but works. Lovely stuff. Would be great post-dinner.
