Bottle, Carringtons, Chorlton. Hazy yellow pour with a fading white head.. Some hops and fruit in the nose. A touch of lemon in the flavour and some restrained hop combined with some trace yeast. Light and on the thin side but perfectly chuggable with a chinese takeaway. Certainly no world beater but possibly a bit harshly treated on its overall rating

Bottle from the World Beer Festival - Richmond on 09/05/2010. Cloudy orange body with a medium rocky off-white head. Floral aroma with some caramel. Dry caramel and floral notes. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Bottle at Eight Mile Creek. A perfectly acceptable. Pale Ale. Pours a cloudy gold with a small, white head. Lightly sweet aroma with some bread and caramel, as well as faint hops. Similar traits in the flavor. Sweet up front with light bitters coming at the end. Light to medium in body, a little crisp. Not bad overall.

From a 375ml bottle on 13/1/2010. This is just a slightly more subdued version of its big bro, the Sparkling Ale. Has a similar fruity character (apples or pears maybe) but is a little less distinctive and more straight forward. One critical difference is the significantly lower alcohol content (4.5% v 5.8%) which makes this an excellent choice if you wish to settle in for a session. Another bonus is that it’s usually cheap as chips to buy by the case.

26th September 2008. Sampled at ’Beer Exposed’. Crisp gold beer - sharp minerally finish. Dry but refreshing.

bottle, pours hazy yellow with a medium off white head. Aroma is citrusy with notes of lemon and light hops. Flavor is light and sour with pale malts and lemon with a strong carbonation.

Bottle. Not turned, but still pours a pretty cloudy yellow with a large white head that doesn’t fade entirely. The aroma is of bready malts and ripe fruits. There’s some sourness in a thin body. Finish is slightly acidic and sour. Unsophisticated and lively, this is the respectable face of common Australian session beers.
