Expect notes of evergreen trees, subtle citrus, dark truit and roasty chocolate. With a smooth body and full mouthteel balanced out by a moderate bitterness this beer is meant to keep you warm as the days grow cold.

6oz pour at brewery. Pours black with moderate beige head. Aroma has herbal, piney hops and roasted malts. Flavour has a ton of roasted malt, piney hops, and cacao. Could have more hop flavours, but still very nice.

Dark brown, tan head. Piney resinous nose, light roast. Earthy, medium roast, pine and citrus with big long hop bitterness. Great example of the style. Best in recent memory

On tap. Pours a dark reddish brown with light head. Aromas of dank hops and sweet toasted malts. Flavors of pine, nutty chocolate and barley.

Dark brown. Thick head. Minty, resinous hop nose with roasty malts. Big hop, lots of bitterness. Crushing pine, citrus, and then a ton of roast as well. It's not elegant, but I'm not sure I care.

On tap at Luppolo, pours black with a medium beige head. Aroma is on the subtler side for the style, with medium roast, moderate piney hops, and a bit of dusty dry espresso. Flavour is well-balanced between the roasted malt and bitter piney hops, with a touch of earthiness and dry espresso. Finishes roasty and bitter in good balance. Could use a bit more oomph on the hop expression, but this is very solid.

Poured from the tap. Very dark brown with off white head. Chocolate malt, mild pine and resin hops. Would like a touch more pine, but really like this style.
