This brew is named after the Serpent's Back Trail in Hope, BC and inspired by stouts of the Caribbean and Southeast Asia. It's packed with notes of sweet roasted malt, coffee and chocolate, but has a surprisingly dry finish. Though classified as a type of stout, our house strain of lager yeast does all of the heavy lifting in this dark beer meant for drinking in hot weather.

Dark brown, with light chocolate note. This has a lightish body, just a light fruitiness. It's okay - probably could use more bitterness for balance, or at least more roast. Seems like it needs a bit more of something.

Poured from 473mL can. Near black with beige head. Roast malt, feint coffee with a hint of fruity coffee bean acidity in the background. Okay.

473mL can. Pours black with small beige head. Aroma has gentle roast and coffee. Flavour has again very gentle roast, some coffee. Decently thick in the mouth, but flavour profile is wanting complexity.
