We fell in love with the contribution of fireweed when we did a collab with Jester King – Fair Voyage (we brought down foraged fireweed for the beer). Our friend and ethnobotanist, Alex, first introduced us to fireweed for it’s similarity to green tea and ability to sustainably harvest. Alexandra has notes of green tea, herbs and a hint of citrus

4oz pour at brewery. Pours clear yellow with minimal white head. Aroma has fresh grass, some funky yeast. Flavour is quite dry, woody, stringent. Solid.

Hazy and very pale, thick head. Earthy bitterness, with pear, stone fruit, nice bready malt, great hop bitterness.

Re-rate: Poured from the tap. Hazy blonde with small white head. Rustic and buggy with light citrus. Quite nice. Aug 06, 2021 (7/3/7/3/14=3.4): poured from the tap @ FHF 2022. Hazy blonde with small white head. Light pepper and citrus, slightly bland, but okay.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow with small white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is floral, yeast, citrus. Medium body, earthy, floral, yeast, light dry finish, very good.

On tap at Fair Isle, pours a hazy blonde with a medium white head. Aroma brings out a wonderfully fragrant farmhouse character, with rustic saison yeast and bugs. Flavour is subtly tart, with lots of rustic farmhouse notes, light bugginess, and a hint of tart citrus. Really great yeast profile here. Fragrant and rustic.

Bottle. Pours clear golden yellow, merlin white head, nice residual and lacing. Aroma is herbal, citrus, yuzu, field grass, Belgian yeast, black pepper. Flavor has a tiny hint of citric tartness, lemony herbal grassy notes, a mineral backbone. Light body, spritzy mouthfeel. Quite enjoyable.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear straw yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of grass and light tangerine with spelt, oak and a bit of bread underlying. Flavor has tangerine and spelt with growing flora and an oaky backbone.
