Tap at Billie’s, Saturday session. The barrel character complements nicely the mead, the cherries contribute some acidity so the sweetness is kept in bay. Nice.

375ml (thx, Brian!) @ Sales Force. Appearance: deep dark purple. Aroma: rich cherries, tart with some sweetness, a bit of booze. Taste: extremely rich, so much of cherries, very tart and sweet, extremely intense. Probably there could be American oak notes, but they are adding to the overall complexity and overpowered by the vibrant cherries. Overall: extremely nice, as usual.

375mL bottle. Pours like a red wine. Aroma has red wine grapes, bourbon, honey. Flavour has sweet cherry, rich red wine and sweet cherries, tons of sweet honey sweetness. Very rich cherry sweetness; excellent fruited mead. Incredible meadery.

Purple, not bright. The aroma has a lot of cherry, some rough bourbon. On the palate, it's big cherry, some bourbon, there's some dryness in the finish. Deep sticky honey, with bourbon and it really sort of puts everything on blast.

375mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany, no head -- looks like red wine. Aroma is very thorny, with lots of intensely pithy cherries, treacly honey, and a light touch of bourbon. Flavour is very rich, with treacly cherries, cherry pith, lots of thorny cherries, and moderately fermented out honey. I can't say I detect the bourbon at all. Rich cherries, wonderfully honey depth. Excellent as usual from Marlobobo.

Poured from 375mL bottle (vintage 2021). Dark purple with no head. Big cherry upfront, feint bourbon on the backing. A touch boozy, feel like the bourbon diminishes instead of adds to the cherry quality.

Tasting, quite clear every deepish red, dried cherries, honey, a bit of spiciness,hint of wood, empathic light sweetness, light piercing sourness, very nicely balanced. Excellent.

8-4-8-4-17 Sample from bottle @ What's Brewing 22, Stavanger. Pours deep dark red, with no head. Aroma is sweet floral heather, red berries, almonds and leathery notes, as well as vanilla, tannins and bourbon barrels. Flavour is sweet notes of honey, red berries, liquorice and bourbon barrels. Sweet fruity wooden barrels through the finish.
