The rare and enigmatic Belgian IPA is a challenging brew that threatens to drive any brewer to madness as they seek just the right hop additions to complement the complexities of Belgian yeast. This dreamy brew features a combination of Loral and Amarillo hops, delivering a backbone of earthy herbaceousness, followed by notes of bright citrus and sweet fruit.

473 ml can. Pours amber with moderate head. Aromas of fruity Belgian yeast with subtle esters, plus a bit of spice and bready malts. Flavors follow same though quite sweet with burnt/dried fruit.

Flight pour at brewery. Pours clear gold with white head. Aroma has esters. Flavour has esters, some chemical bitterness, sweet malts. Low carbonation. The bitter chemical flavour ruins the beer for me. This is not very good.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Dark blond colour, slightly hazy and slightly dull. Mild aroma of spicy yeast, light manure. Good body, there is some residual sweetness indeed; mild spicy yeast, candied fruits, touch of toffee, traces of chamomile, and robust bitterness, with some vegetable accents. A bit rough, but tasty.
