Cask at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Light to mid-gold and clear with a loose white head. Some strong sweaty stone fruit in the aroma, with some gentle citrus notes. Sweet, strong, syrupy taste. Apricot mixing with a grassy character to give an intense impression. Light body with soft carbonation. Struggling to figure out the reason for the low rates as the beer is fantastic.

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours a pale straw with a small white head. Malts and fruits are entwined in the nose. Sweetness is to the fore in the mouth, lemon and barley sugar on a malty base. Eventually a slight bitterness comes through. Finish is dry. This is a pale ale not an IPA. Pretty forgettable.
