Bottle from the brewery. Appearance - black with a lovely deep crema head. Nose - dark chocolate. Creamy. Taste - creamy dark chocolate with roast and Palate - medium bodied. Creamy with a light roasty finish. Overall - good example of the style.

Bottle at home. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of chocolate and coffee. Taste is more of the same. Decent milk stout.

On tap at The Artichoke Norwich Dark almost black beer lasting tan head. Some dark malts some dark fruits. bit of blackcurrant. smooth. slightly sweet. good to mix up the pale ales with a dark beer. some chocolate some coffee. decent.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at the Tewkesbury Winter Ales Festival, 7/2/2020. Near black in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. milk chocolate notes, a hint of blueberry and some malty toastiness in the finish. Fine.

Cask at Robin Hood Beer Festival 2019. Dark brown with beige head. Some roastiness, milk chocolate, cocoa, low carbonation, soft texture. Watery. Light bodied.

Cask at GBBF ‘19, day three, 08/08/19. Black with a well presented tan covering. Nose is roast malts, chocolate, dried fruits, toffee. Taste comprises chocolate, charr, a touch sweeter than the nose suggests, dried fruits, brown sugars. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent stout.

Cask at GBBF 2019, Olympia, London. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a thin beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate aroma. Tastes roasty, malty, chocolate, creamy, slightly sweet.

8th August 2019 GBBF Day 3. Cask. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Soft dark malts, creamy but thin and dry. Mild dark fruits. Dry finish. Dry and simplistic.2.9

Keg in Stamford. Almost clear dark brown beer, with a decent bubbly tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry with decent fine minerally carbonation. Smooth mellow dark malts, a little dark malt cream. Mild roast bitterness. A little dark fruits. Light and semi dry finish. Tidy.
