Can from Cork & Cask. Clear ruby body with a thick beige head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of smoked malt and raisin. Flavour of cranberry, smoked malt and rust. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. It’s good but knowing what Cromarty are capable of, I’m a little disappointed. Perhaps a touch heavy on the smoked malt.

Deceptive for the strength and not the biggest taste as this sort of beer goes, malty and fruity with some toasty notes .

Cask at the Cock Tavern - Hackney. Pours clear ruby-brown with a small, foamy topping. Lots of dark fruits in the nose, grape, figs, dates, berries, some toffee. Medium to big sweet flavour with lots of liquefied dark fruits, bready malts, a little butterscotch and toffee, blackcurrants, nips of chocolate. Medium bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Sweet finish but not cloying, a little alcohol warmth, more berries, bread, fruitcake, toffee. Great stuff overall. Quite nicely nuanced.
