Brewed as a traditional wee heavy with hints of smoke from added beachwood smoked malt. The low bitterness helps to aid the drinkability of this malty wonder.

Cask at Euston Tap, West. It pours darkest brown with a sturdy beige head. The aroma is rich, roasted malt, bitter - sweet, smoked malts, toffee, treacle, fruit cake, raisin, dried berry, chocolate and touch of spice. The taste is bitter - sweet, rich malty action, toasted brown bread, treacle, toffee, decent hit of smoke, dried fruits, liquid fruit cake, liquorice and some warming alcohol through the finish. Medium + body and fine carbonation. Rich, yet well balanced. Dangerously drinkable.

Keg at drygate. Pours clear amber with a thin white head. Aromas of dark stone fruit, light spice and toffee. Taste is light sweet, malty, more fruit and light spice. Smoked note on the finish. Good example of the style.

On keg at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - stunning black with autumnal shades all.around the edges. Nose - toffee and nuts. Slight dank cellar. Taste - tonnes of nuts and toffee. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy sweet middle section and a dry dank fall off at the end. Overall - it’s a Scotch Ale alright. Quite dank though.
