04/08 On tap at the brewpub. Almost clear reddish brown body with small head. Decent grainy hay and caramel malt aroma, a bit woody as well. Flavor takes on these woods, being more acidic, vinous than really bitter, with some roasted coffee and caramel malt. Medium to thin bodied with shorter finish, mostly following the flavor. Not bad, but unimpressive with wnough flaws I can say I’m gentle with grades.

Wässrig kaffeemalziger Antrunk. Geringe Herbe im Mittelteil, das Malz steigt dafür. Dennoch zu wässrig, nicht intensiv genug, kaum Röstmalz. Nichts Besonderes. 11/7/9/7//7

Dark copper brown color, small beige head. Caramel, licorice and brown sugar in the nose. Light palate. Dry caramelly flavor plus some vegetables. Drinkable, but boring - their pale beer is better.

Draught at the brewpub. Poured a darker red-brown body with a big, thick creamy tan head thjat went away slowly. Very nice. The nose was a bit of a letdown with some dust and yeast covering up a speck of something that could be roastiness. The taste is... erm. Odd? Damn light, dominated by a metallic hopiness that reminds one of licking coins, dry hoppy finish. The malt is all too subtle to show up under that. A very, very strange dunkel? that I just didn’t like much. Definitely the worst beer of the three.

Draught at Kalternberg, Budapest on 4th and 9th August 2007. Black and very flavoursome - malty and delicately sweet at first, but with a dry finish of moderate duration. Pleasant enough, and certainly stands up to other beers available in Budapest.

Draught at the brewpub.
Reddish/brown coloured, small airy head, sourish nose. Mild roasted malt and weak caramel aroma with notes of coffee. Smooth, nutty finish.
