Sweet stout brewed with Speculoos biscuits and lactose. Spectaculoos is White Frontier's homage to the eponymous spiced ginger cookie. And what could be more appropriate on 6 December than the traditional St Nicholas's day biscuit?

Pitch black with a faint ruby hue, tall loose frothy tan head, gone within seconds, minimal lacing. Aroma roasted malts, cocoa, toffee, coffee liquor, speculoos notes. Taste light light heavy sweet and light bitter, malty, dark chocolate, light speculoos, spices. Light retronasal smoke sensation, sweetbitter aftertaste, chocolate, bit bready, light to medium body, watery to oily texture, soft carbonation, very nice sweet stout.

Bottle from Beery Christmas. Pours dark brown with some quite brown foam. Foam does not stay around for a while and is gone quite quickly. Nose is full of cocoa, toffee and light black chocolate dust. Taste has some chocolate, cocoa dust, lightly tart and with some roast bitterness. Light bodied but drinks easy. Not too complex but wells drinkable.

Beery Christmas #6. I'm a bit torn with this one and a bit disappointed. It's not a bad stout and it has some very nice spicy notes of cinnammon, nutmeg, cloves, and yes speculoos. Unfortunately it's just too weak and dry. Guess the biscuits made it too dry through their sugar. Unfortunate, as it is a rather nice Christmas stout otherwise.
