Can. Color: Very dark brown to black, dense light brown head. Taste: Over medium bitter floral, herbal and bit resinous hop. Sweetish notes of roasted malt, chocolate biscuit, caramel, rye. Hints of citrus. Pretty smooth, slick mouthfeel. Over medium body, under average carbonation. Nice smooth black IPA.

Bottle split at Bodney, thanks to Tipple, 12/04/18. Black with a well presented tan covering. Nose is light charr, raisins, spice, pine needle, dark fruit rinds, red berry notes. Taste comprises Ribena berries, earthy roast, cocoa sprinke, pine needle, charr, light spice, dried fruits, liquorice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with earthy hop biterness. Decent CDA.

Can at LKS -thanks to Mr Tipz. It pours deep / dark brown with a small beige head. The aroma is soft, sweet, sticky, chewy, oily, chocolate cake, chocolate digestive biscuit and raisin. The taste is slick, bitter, chewy, toasty grain, earthy roast, peppery spice, charred wood, cocoa, some ash and dried fruits kicking about,. Medium body and fine carbonation. Decent enough Black IPA, but perhaps lacks a bit of wow factor.

Can. Opaque dark black.- brown beer, good tan head. Palate is smooth and a little soft, reasonable fine carbonation. Soft mellow dark malts, mild biscuity dark chocolate. Modest pine and a trace of dark fruits before a light semi dry finish. Quite a mellow and simpe CDA, but fine.

Can from Bottle Baron. Dark brown body with a thin beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of teriyaki sauce, burnt caramel and soy sauce. Flavour of barbecue sauce and rusted metal. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Light fizz. There’s a weird barbecue quality to this I found off-putting.
