Tap at puff & stuff in robinson. Nice big black presentation. Very nice tan head. A little bitter on the uptake with some alky showing, not quite as civilized as a true mild sweet stout. Charcoal roasted fer sher. Yes, good impressions after I get over the alky content. In the middle. the 6% starts to become easier to take. Mild co2, nose is simply good beer. Not bad but that rude alky content makes it just a little hard to take.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a large-ish two to three centimetre tall rich lighter brown head. Aroma of licorice, tons of roasted malt, some lactose and light vanilla scents with oats and grain on the edges and some residual sweetness from chocolate and a touch of very subdued anise. Medium to Full-bodied; Very strong roasted malt flavours noticeable at first with a nice maltiness, some lighter vanilla and oak flavours and ending with a lot of sugars and pungency from the deeper flavours and malt that are noticeable, right until the very end. Aftertaste shows a good complexity with a lot of malt, but some smooth spice flavours and an understated but very substantial malt backbone with the roasted malt hitting on some bitterness, but in a good way. Overall, a nice beer with a solid complexity throughout, some nice flavours in the profile without anything pungent or assertive that still goes down quite easily. Nice to sample, especially on draught! I sampled this twelve ounce pour on draught at BrewPort in BridgePort, Connecticut on 10-March-2018 for US$5,00.

Draft/Fest. A- Slightly sour, cocoa. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Cocoa, roasty. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Seemingly pretty standard stout. Not really a sweet stout in my opinion and a hint of sour on the nose. Okay.

Tap at the Thirsty Moose Manchester. Dark brown bordering on black with a thin wispy tan head. Roasty earthy with a hint of chocolate. Straddles the line between dry and sweet stout with only a hint of the chocolate coming through. Nice beer but I was expecting more chocolate.

Keg at Draft Taproom. Clear dark brown, thin foamy offwhite head, good retention. Aroma of rotten milk. Roast. Bitter and ashy. Taste is sweet roast, lactose, kinda rotten. This is off. Way off. Actually offensive.

Tap at The Davis Beer. Pours really dark brown with a tan head. Smells chocolate! Med body, nearly. Flavor is chocolate, earthy and for me somewhat smoky. Drier than expected. Moderately earthy chocolate bitter. Getting drier with time. :)) Dang nice.
