Keg at Hole in the Wall, Portsmouth. Aroma certainly has salted caramel, if low key.. Opaque cola brown. Thick foamy beige head. Perhaps served too cold because there's an initial nothingness followed by definite salted caramel. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Nice enough. Meets spec but lacking something.

Pours a deep dark brown to black colour with a diminishing tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, chocolate and caramel. A sweet roasted taste, sweet roasted malts, caramel and chocolate flavours with some salty notes and a sweet roasted finish.

Half-pint, cask at Euston Tap. Covering fawn-coloured head with rings of lace down the glassware, coal black in the glass. Cocoa nose, slightly roasted. Malt-forward taste of liquorice, cocoa, and caramel. Smoothly roasted malty end, mid-dry. Pretty decent. (Euston, Greater London 06.11.2022).

Dark been, solid head. Smells, as advertised, of salted caramel. Flavour has it too, with some sweet malt and a little fruit and very light hop. A bit watery in the finish.

Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with minimal cream head. There’s a powerful aroma of caramel with traces of fudge too. Caramel again dominant in the mouth, together with chocolate and roast malts. Later vanilla and some hints off coffee become detectable too. Overall it is cquite sweet but with both smoky and salty undertones. Finish is fruity and slightly dry. Pretty decent - plenty of flavour for its strength.
