A true collaboration as well as another beer brewed in partnership with Has Bean, this is our showcase beer for Good Beer Hunting's Uppers & Downers Festival. Made with exclusively roasted for this beer, Kenyan beans from the Kiriga Estate, it is special. Soured using yoghurt cultures, this beer is a fruity number with sharp, preserved lemon aroma that has you wanting to pucker your lips. Undertones of green coffee beans add a good caffeinated buzz. Effervescent in the mouthfeel, you get sparks of tart, dark fruit flavours mingled with washed coffee acidity. Ribena is a descriptor of the coffee varietal; blackberry is a predominant flavour of the beer!

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Tipple. Pours hazy orange with minimal head. Tangy citrus in the nose, accents of funk, lemon. Light sweet flavour with more tart lemon, very slight coffee, soft rindy bitterness, more funk, a little puke. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with further tart citrus, a littl bile, minimal coffee, low bitterness. So so overall.

Bottle at L42 - thanks to Adrian. It pours hazy bright golden with a thick white head. The aroma is musty, earthy, bright acidity, pickled onion monster munch, green veg, lemon - lime and bread. The taste is crisp, dry, pickled onion monster munch, lemon sherbet, rindy, acidity kick, bit of green veg and earth with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit odd.

Tap at the Fixed Wheel Tap Room, Blackheath. Poured a hazy straw colour with a big frothy white head. The aroma is yeast, biscuit malt, citrus fruit, light coffee. The flavour is moderate sour with a light, crisp, fresh acidic citrus palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. The coffee is well hidden. I wished it wasn’t ☹️

Hazy gold beer, short lived white head. Light palate, semi dry, decent carbonation. Thin malts, not doing very much. Light lemony sourness. Mild earthy coffee. Trace of orange. Dry finish. Hmmm coffee and lemon? No, not me either!

20/10/2017 - draught glass on my way home from Wanderlust. Orange brownish with a small light tanned head. Nose has coffee roast, herbal, some citrus. Taste is some citrus, coffee, herbal. Coffee sours seem to turn out quite herbal.
