Can at home shared with Laura. Black color, small to average sized beige to tan head. Aroma is malts, brown malts, slightly chocolaty. Flavor is malts, chocolaty notes, brown malts, a bit sweetish, but metallic bitter in the finish. A bit thin texture, average carbonation. Okay.

Can from Beer Republic. Aroma is roasted malt with tobacco, burnt bread crust, dark chocolate, burnt malt. Mild to medium bitter with a moderate sweetness. Medium body. Roasty and burnt.

Optisch schwarz wie Motoröl, feiner Cappuccino-Schaum. In der Nase röstig, Kaffee. Im Trunk wieder Kaffee, bitter, spät röstig, passt.

Tap at the brewery taproom. Williamsburg Virginia. A opaque black brown coloured pour with a halo of tan head. Aroma is nutty earthy woody roast, mealy, light Ash, rye bread. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, nutty liquorice, bark, black roast, treacle. Palate is semi sweet mellow carbonation. Good.
