pitch black color. Overly dry nose with some roasted malt character. Off sweet. Balanced nicely with oatmeal. Smooth mouth. Dark fruit, oats and dark chocolate hit the back of the palate. Nice but not outstanding

Can from Dranken Geers, Oostakker. Pours hazy black with a slowly thinning, foamy, beige head. Aroma of milk chocolate, mocha, dried fig, brown bread, hazelnut, pistachio. Taste is medium malty sweet, chocolatey & bready, bit of a powdery effect, nutty tone, bitter coffee & very slight umami. Dry, toasty, herbal hoppy finish, lingering chocolate & nuts & some cream. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Solid little Milk Stout.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a nice and velvety tan head, about two centimetres tall, atop an opaque and rich deep brown, almost black. Aroma of roasted, burnt nuts, alcohol, lactose, pitted fruits, raisins, a bit of Concord grapes and a hint of dry oatmeal. Medium to Full-bodied; Super rich roasty flavours with an almost burnt malt note, some raisins and pitted fruit, with a large lactose and sweet note with some alcohol and robust dark fruit and cherry notes toward the end, with a little alcohol astringency and metallic notes. Aftertaste shows the milk, cream and lactose notes at first and then fades to a rich robust burnt malt note with a lot of flavour and depth from the pitted fruits with a nice punch from the alcohol and astringency at the very end. Overall, a nice and respectable dry stout with a nice flavour profile and a rich set of flavours and sweetness throughout that makes this very nice throughout...especially in the Winter months. I sampled this sixteen ounce pour on draught at Busch Gardens in the German Tent (Festhaus) at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia on 16-November-2019 for US$8,85.
