On cask at the White Lady. Appearance - deep amber with a creamy beige head. Nose - toffee, brown bread and dried orange. Taste - some malt and hop spice this time, dried orange, brown bread and still some toffee lurking. Palate - medium bodied, tangy and bitter middle and finish. Overall - pretty good example of the style.

Cask at the crosse Keys Bank. A hazed orange amber coloured pour with a a lively off white head. Aroma is tangy, stewed fruit, berries, sweet bread, stewed hop. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, twiggy, nutty malts, dried fruits, fruit and nut, tangy apple, palate is semi sweet, but lifeless. But bland.

Cask at Square Bottle, Chester. Pours a deep chestnut with a small cream head. There’s malts, caramel and hints of yeast in the aroma. In the mouth it is slightly bitter with a creamy texture. Flavours of traditional hops, malts and honey with oranges and traces of melon coming through later leading to a slightly fruity finish. This reasonable but nothing special.

Clear pale amber with a bubbly/frothy white head. Soft biscuit malt aroma, with just a hint of fruit. Light bodied, fresh biscuit malt with a sweet fruity edge, floral hop bitterness, a hint of spice and a dry bitter finish
