German Beech-smoked malt is at the heart of this dark beer delivering a rich smoked flavour that is perfectly balanced. A touch of chilli leaves a gentle warmth on the finish of this smooth beer.

From the can. Pours dark brown with a huge, foamy beige head that fairly quickly subsides. Aroma is dark chocolate with subtle chili pepper undertones. Taste is sweet up front, full of chocolate, more milk than dark, and finishes moderately spicy and mildly bitter. An up till then unseen tartness lingers on the tongue, mild but noticeable. Body is medium, carbonation is mild, both oily and watery at times. Pleasant.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up at the office on Wilton Way. Borough Wines, is t? Pours black-brown with a creamy, tan head. Mild roast in the nose, some dark fruits, dried berries. Light-medium sweet flavour, with soft roast, smooth chocolate, further dried berries, low bitterness. Nicely balanced finish, if a bit restrained, with subtly bitter cocoa, some earthy hitterness, leathery berries. Quite enjoyable, if fairly relaxed. Not much chili presence, though.

330ml can. Darkest brown colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Smoky and chocolately, dark malty aroma, hints of dark chocolate and chipotle, green pepper. Taste is minimally smoky, dark malty, hints of barbecue sauce, asphalt, a touch of dark chocolate, minimally mineral and ashy overtones close to the finish, accumulating chili spiciness in the finish.

28/VI/16 - 33cl can from Geers (Oostakker) @ the pre-AdamChandler-tasting, Erwin's ponton - BB: 13/VIII/16 (2016-705)
Clear dark reddish brown beer, creamy beige head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: malty, lots of chocolate, caramel, lots of dried fruits, raisins. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste:s oft smoke touch, pretty roasted, cocoa powder, little sweet, bit sourish. Aftertaste: roasted, soft chilli, some coffee, little bitter, sweet malts. I'd like to see more smoke and more chilli in this beer, then it'd be really good.

Can sample at a tasting at troubles’s place. Thanks Tom L. Dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of roast, chocolate, some smokiness. Sweetish flavor with roast, a bit of chocolate, some smokiness, and a bitterish finish with mild spicy chili. Medium-bodied.
