Dark brown. The aroma is toasty, a bit of brett. But on the palate, it's got some sourness. There's a bit of toasty stout in there as well.

355mL can, pours black with a large brown head. Aroma has some orange zest, some metallic notes, some weird funkiness, and a little roast. Flavour is infected, with sour brett and moderate roast. No notice of the bourbon – this is just the typical Quebecois-infected BA stout. Why can this province’s breweries not get their shit together in this regard?

355mL can from IGA Famille Charles. Pours black with a large brown head. Lots of roast, some bourbon, and touch of something sour on the nose. Flavour is very sour, something wrong must have snuck in here, some malts underneath maybe. Complete mess.

Dark brown colour with some copper-ruby highlights, a nice, big, warm-beige coloured head, kind of creamy, long lasting and leaving good lacing. Got some banana notes in the nose at first pour, like wheat, but after breathing, the orange peel does come out blending with the Bourbon. The Bourbon taste mixes with chocolate flavours, the roasted malt base and decent bitterness. Getting some wheat-banana notes as well here. Getting some nice cacao balancing things. A nice, sipping Imperial Stout with orange peel bitterness, Bourbon warming and drying finish.

A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, light orange pulp, light licorice, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice chocolate malt with dark fruits, licorice, orange pulp, alcohol warmth, very nice. On tap at Festibiere de Laval 2022.

(355ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours basically black with a small whitish head and no lace. Aroma is definitely lots of dark sugar, roasted malt, edges of coffee and smoky burnt grains, prominent boozy bourbon and wood, clear presence of sweet orange and citurs bitters. Flavour is quite sweet up front, dark malts with a fair amount of roast, lightly sweetened chocolate, burnt coffee, some sweet orange, dark fruits, heavy citrus bitters/booze warmth feeling, full boosty back end with a lot of bourbon cask and wood, spirit-laden and cocktail like, lots of orange bitters in the aftertaste. Light to medium body, oily, average carbonation. Interesting brew, definitely a little hot/bitter but that reflected the cocktail inspiration well.
