33 cl bottle at La Abadía, Madrid; RateBeer won't let me add this magnificent venue to their list. Up theirs. A glossy very dark brown pour, almost jet black, dense and thick, with an also thick but very thin dark tan head, rapidly diminishing, not lacing at all. Aroma is intense coffee, iron, blackberry, cocoa, mowed lawn, cola jellies. No trace of coconut, though. Mouth is slick, sweetish, full-bodied. Slow-sipping, crisp and mouth-filming. Aftertaste is very bitter, long-lasting, full of espresso. arugula and choco-milkshake. Boy is this a good stout!

--Sample, thanks oh6gdx! -- Black, minimal head. Syrupy nose with coconut and chocolate. Extremely sweet with full body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Burning sugar, coconut and syrup, hints of coffee. . Sweetness overloads the finish.

Bottle. Black. Tan head is gone in seconds. 3- Aroma of mocha, caramel, coconut - deep rather than brash. Oily, low carbonation. Big but not overbearing flavours. Mocha, less coconut than suggested by aroma. Not cloying. A swell of booze and slight spiced bitterness at the end. More class than bäng, really.

33 cL bottle. Pours black, with a small, tan head. The nose is anise, dark chocolate, toasted oak, coconut water, and banana peel. Sweet and syrupy, with a drying, musty bitterness. Heavy body, sticky, and thick. Strong and interesting.

On tap at Suds & Soda, Derby (at £5.50 a third !), Pours almost black with minimal cream head. There’s chocolate, raisins and alcohol in the aroma. In the mouth it is sweet and smoothy with a creamy teture. Alcohol to thefore again in the flavour, alongside milky coffee, coconut and hints of dark fruits and ginger Finish is dry and peppery. It’s very nice and dangerpously drinkable – but I’m not sure it’s worth the price I paid for it !

Dark brown, no head. Inky looking. The random umlaut seems weird for a brewer from Reval. The aroma is kind of a caramel/molasses character. Some burnt supermarket coffee stuff in there. Definitely burnt sugars, a fair bit of alcohol, lots of dark fruit -an absence of coconut, and the alcohol comes in pretty harsh in the finish.
