Draught at the brewery, 4/15/17.
Very gentle haze to this light blonde-flaxen bodied beer. White head atop is small and shows modest retention.
Soft and floral in the nose, despite the kettle souring. Very modest lactic acid does not dominate the beer and light citrus emerges showing lemon zest and bits of lime. Less juice-like/hop-forward and with a lot more expression from the underlying yeast. Though of course, being dry-hopped, it’s still has plentiful hop character. Whatever they’ve used adds a heathery, almost herbal character. Good change of pace from all of the IPA-hop sours. No alcohol or flaw.
Soft and lightly bubbly in the mouth and nicely dry. Light lactic notes with herbal hops adding light bitterness and grassiness. Lemon, lime, and very light melon on the finish with a strong floral character. Nice, simple, drinkable sour that isn’t over-the-top in any aspects.
