Draught at CBC, 11/12/16.
Clear, soft blonde-golden body is topped by a small white head of moderate to low retention.
Light citrus and nectarine join forces in the nose and, in concert with the fruity esters of the yeast, do produce a sort of pommelo character. There’s a touch of spicy clove and black pepper phenol, drying things out, but caramel-laden honey malts do provide ample balance and there’s no resin or alcohol in the nose.
Soft and malty with a good base malt sweetness balancing the citrusy, melon-like hop notes. Tangerine, vanilla, white pepper, even. Peach and light clove sit on the end with a strong ester of apple and pear. Some grassiness from the hops, but no resin. Low, but ample carbonation.
