Draught at the brewery, 3/25/18.
Moderately hazy amber. Off-white head fades to a ring.
Amber malts in the nise show light bread, some nuttiness and light caramel. Lightly grassy hops seem appropriate to style and lighten things, balancing tjrle malts somewhat.
Bready in the mouth with red fruit and honey-caramel as well. Very clean, very dry, excellent as always.

5 oz. draft at the brewery. Deeper amber appearance. Nose is toffee and English ale yeast. Flavor is correct for the style. Weak caramel, dried leaves, mild nuts, and yeast. I don’t get any bitterness at all. Malt driven, as it should be.

Nitro pour at the brewery, pours a clear orange with creamy white head. Grainy nose, yeast, orange. Flavor has crackers, bread, grain, yeast, orange. Dry and creamy finish. 6 4 6 3 10

Growlette pour to a becher pint glass, a pint glass and a mug. The mug seemed to have kept the head the best. Yes, first signs of a nice ESB to come.
From the mug, the appearance was a one finger white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Leaves a messy lace roaming around the glass uneven.
The aroma takes the British sweet maltiness flowing nicely over clean grassy sweet to an earthy appropriate cleanness.
The flavor takes the grassy/earthy clean sweetness flowing into the aftertaste and on into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a great sessionability about it. Carbonation felt low key. Very smooth as a Bitter.
Overall, nicely done Bitter that could fulfill it’s destiny as a great food beer. Next time, definitely.
