Draught at the brewery, 3/25/18.
Dark black, opaque, with a tan head that quickly fades to nothing.
Dry roast with light peanut skin, in the nose. Bit of molasses and vanilla.
Super dry with strong roasted acidity. Great, soft, malty texture with good attenuation and lots of flavor for its size. Clean, no alcohol. Carbonation is moderate and engaging.

5 oz. draft at the source. Pitch black appearance. As it warmed up it was good. Nose is roasted coffee, hints of chocolate with light roast. Taste is chocolate, roasted grain and coffee grounds. Smooth and dry texture. Ends dry with bitter coffee. The brewer says ABV it is3.8% it. Nicely done.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Sly lace.
The aroma had some roasted coffee bean, roasted cocoa bean, light char and a delicate smoke underneath.
The flavor leaned to the roasty side with a touch of sweet pretty far underneath. Smoke seems barely there. Nice roasty to char aftertaste with a rugged roasty finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. ABV felt as projected by the brewer.
Overall, drinks like a porter but still has some stout qualities about it. I could have again, I think.
