Turmeric, or “kurkuma,” adds a hint of spice to this tropically crisp, saison-style ale. Brewing with the whole root lends all of the subtle aspects of fresh turmeric—its earthy notes and color—to Kurkuma’s dry and refreshing profile.

From a pounder can. Aroma of fresh saison, you know, that yeasty spicy kind of nose? Taste is typical peppery spicy saison. Pour is slight haze with pale yellow. Was expecting more color for turmeric spiced beer. Also, I would expect a little turmeric in the flavor as well; can't find it. Anyway, just a little disappointed, was saving this to try, hoping for something a little different, but its not. Could use a little more carbonation as well. There you have it.

16 ounce can. Medium gold color. Dense, pillowy, snow white head. Interesting yeasty malt aroma. First sip is spicy, with notes of turmeric and ginger. Earthy and tangy with a hint of toasted white bread. Clean and crisp. Dry on the backend. Somewhat unique.

Can. Freebie off Luke at Beer Stop Dronfield. Cheers. Mostly clear, light gold. Fine and quite dense, lasting white head. Nose has yeasty bread. Damp grain. A bit of “Belgian” yeast. Hint of spice. Taste is dry and lightly bitter. Flicker of bready sweetness. Easy drinking with frothy carbonation. Light dry and light bitter finish. The turmeric addition completely passed me by, but it’s a nice enough saison for sure.

Panda at home, thanks to the Wingmane, 31/08/21. Clear golden with an off white covering that clears to a swirl. Nose is citric tinged straw, lemon rind, herb, light yeast esters, toasted grains. Taste comprises lemon rind, herb, light spice, yeast esters, damp grass, hedgerow. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough saison ... can't say I was getting Turmeric, probably a good thing or just a pinch.

Panda 🐼 at home thanks to Wingmane. A mostly clear pale yellow straw coloured pour with a halo of white head. A roma is nice earthy fresh saison , tumeric, dried apple, clove, banana. Flavour is composed of crisp light grains, cereal, apple, cinnamon, wheat, mineral. Palate is mineral, spicy highish carbonation. Good.

Very hazy, super pale golden coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall, pure white head that fades fairly quickly and leaves nothing on top. Aroma of grass, hay, relatively pungent yeasts with a little breadiness along with some subtle stone fruits and a dash of light hops - pretty mild though in the nose at least. Medium-bodied; Assertive spice note at first that shows some wheat, coriander seed, hay, grass and perhaps turmeric, but this is mild throughout with a light hit of sweetness from the stone fruits, but that's it - just a strong malty characteristic and the faintest dose of hops. Aftertaste shows the wheat and spice components and that's about it, with a light grassiness coming through and a hint of hay - pretty mild throughout and if showing some turmeric, this is very light - the drier and more upfront saison notes come through much more potently. Overall, a nice and restrained saison with some light spices, but a crisp and concise malt profile that hits hard, but leaves things fairly mild throughout, enough to enjoy across the board. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Total Wine in Gainesville, Virginia on 06-March-2021 for US$4,49, packaged on 23-December-2020 and sampled at my house here in Washington on 17-August-2021.

16 oz can, gift. Hazy straw yellow with a small but fluffy white head. Aroma has some stove fruit, yeast, a little spice. Flavour has citrus followed by a dry bitterness coming from the turmeric. Reminded me of a Belgian wit, which is no bad thing
