Turmeric, or “kurkuma,” adds a hint of spice to this tropically crisp, saison-style ale. Brewing with the whole root lends all of the subtle aspects of fresh turmeric—its earthy notes and color—to Kurkuma’s dry and refreshing profile.

Can from CW online. It pours clear bright pale yellow with a decent white head. The aroma is earthy, warming spice, root veg, doughy white bread, cracker and custard cream biscuits. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter, fragrant spice, saffron, floral, doughy white bread, some sherbet, root veg, earthiness, some biscuit and dandelions with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. An interesting concoction for sure. Drinks decent, but not sure it's something I would return to.

Canned 12/23/20, drunk 5/31/21. Clear, brassy-maize with a multitude of champagne-like bubbles creating and bolstering a large, rocky, white head. Soft mineral is joined by an almost ginger-like spice, though it's nicely integrated and not punchy or acidic, at this point (if it ever was). Clean and aromatic with dough and hints of honey from the malt, for support with no alcohol or overdone notes. Soft and supple in the mouth with tight carbonation and a lovely, earthy-spicy turmeric character balanced by heavy mineral-like yeast character and soft, doughy, lightly sweet malt. Fruity and mildly spicy with the turmeric augmenting the natural phenols from the yeast. At five month old, I could definitely see this being a bit much fresh, but it's certainly homogeneous and balanced right now.

This brew has a spicy aroma with clove and tropical fruit. The flavor is heavy on the saison style yeast spiciness. Pepper and clove are joined by sweet, bready malt and tropical fruit. It has a dry finish. Very good.

Pint can from Wine Warehouse, 4/19/21. And dedicated to Ophelia Z. Hazy yellow, large foamy white head, good retention. Aroma of yeast, stone fruit. Taste is yeast, bubblegum, stone fruits, bready malt. Crisp. Not sure what the turmeric adds, a good beer all its own. But add more turmeric to beers cause its healthy yo. Solid beer.

Pours pale yellow into a tulip. Bright white head with good retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Sweet citrus aromas. Crisp with banana and hay upfront turning to earthy meadow in the lasting finish.
