Draught at the brewery, 8/15/18.
Clear, deep bronze with light copper hints and a small, off-white head atop showing moderate-to-low retention.
Nose is surprisingly hoppy, with herbs, fresh cut grass, bright lemon and soft floral suggestions. Even a bit of light mango in there. Some rustic, grain and cereal character breaks through, lightly, with a hint of mineral and otherwise lingering hop notes. No alcohol or flaw.
In the mouth it's light, effervescent and quite dry, though not thin. Cereal, toasted grain and cracker sit in the background as mango-strawberry-lemon-like hops show brightly throughout. It's a little more hoppy than expected and maybe preferred, as it doesn't really allow the full force of the corn and other malts, nor the nuances of the lager yeast, to be fully appreciated. That being said, the hops are done very well, with little/no bitterness nor any resin. Clean, crisp, hoppy finish with lingering cereal and light cracker.
