Draught at the brewery, 8/15/18.
Cloudy-soupy, bronze-maize-golden with a thin, white head showing moderately-low retention.
Nose is beautifully-fragrant, tropical fruit-heavy hops mixing with not-overdone bubble gum and fruity esters from the yeast. Throw in light honey-laced, cracker-and-biscuit malts, no resin, strong juiciness and you've got just about all the boxes checked off for an awesome NE IPA.
In the mouth it's very flavorful, with melon, mango, passion fruit and guava notes leading to juicy honey and red grapefruit, low bitterness, yet still enough to balance, and a high attenuation with tight carbonation. Supple, soft, malty texture. Deeply juicy stuff, the yeast character obviously contributing yet not going as far as to make it a bubble gum bomb, nor is it messy in the actual beer (doesn't taste slick, nutty, bland, etc...). No alcohol, no resin. Amazing.
